OUR STORY

Bold Built officially launched in 2025, but our roots go back to 2017, when we began as H&K Home Furnishings in Montana. At the time, Heath and Kristen had just bought their first home. Kristen dreamed of a statement bed frame for their master bedroom, and with Heath’s background in building—and a bit of frugality—they decided to make one themselves. Buying a piece that "wasn’t even real wood" just didn’t sit right.

Heath, who grew up in a small town in eastern Montana, learned the fundamentals of carpentry, construction, and welding from his dad, grandpa, and various jobs over the years. After building their bed (and later a few other pieces), friends and family started asking for custom projects too. Before long, every week Heath was home from his oilfield job in North Dakota was filled with woodworking—creating everything from dining tables to a handmade crib and dresser for their first (and eventually second) child.

In 2021, with their second baby on the way, the family moved to North Dakota to be together full-time. That transition—and the demands of a growing family—led them to pause H&K Home Furnishings, with no plans to revive it beyond the occasional personal project.

But God had other plans.

In late 2024, with no intention of restarting a business, Heath felt called to build a new pulpit for their church. He offered it as a gift to the congregation that had played such a key role in both of their faith journeys. That single project, though incredibly meaningful, didn’t spark any immediate plans—until a friend from church posted about needing a dining table. Kristen reached out, and Heath agreed to build it.

During that project, everything shifted.

One day, while walking together after a workout, Heath told Kristen out of the blue: “I want to start building again.” A little surprised, Kristen asked if he was serious. He was—and this time, they agreed the goal would be to grow it into a full-time business, not just a side hustle.

From that moment, the doors began to open.

Since relaunching as BoldBuilt in early 2025, the growth has been beyond what they imagined. Orders poured in, doors opened, and within a few months, Heath left his oilfield job to build full-time. BoldBuilt now crafts a wide variety of custom pieces—tables, dressers, desks, and more—and is expanding across neighboring cities and states, with hopes of reaching clients all over the U.S., God willing.

What began as a couple’s DIY project turned into a family-run business built on faith, craftsmanship, and purpose. Now, their kids are part of the journey too—watching, learning, and growing alongside them.

At BoldBuilt, every piece is made with care, intention, and the belief that furniture can be more than just functional, it can be the backdrop to life’s most meaningful moments.

Being entrusted with creating timeless, lasting pieces that become a part of families’ stories is a responsibility and an honor that we don’t take lightly.

We are honored you are here and looking forward to working with you!
